Data We Collect

We collect the information needed to run the app: audio for live transcription, transcript and conversation content for answer generation, Apple account identifiers, full name and email address when Apple provides them, and Live Activity push tokens for lock-screen updates.

How We Use Data

We use this data for app functionality, including authentication, transcription, answer generation, recent insights, session history, and Live Activity updates. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Service Providers

SideThread uses service providers to run the product. During a live session, microphone audio is streamed to OpenAI Realtime for transcription. SideThread also uses model providers to screen for useful questions and generate answers. Sign in with Apple is used for account authentication, and Apple Push Notification service is used for Live Activity updates when those updates are active.

Transcript Retention

New sessions are set to not save finalized transcript text unless you turn transcript saving on before listening. Live assists can still appear in a no-save session. When an assist is surfaced, SideThread may store the answer copy, citations, answer counts, timestamps, retention setting, and other non-text metadata needed for recent insights, session history, usage limits, and diagnostics.

If you choose to save transcripts for a session, SideThread may store finalized transcript item text with your session history. Saved-transcript sessions may also store the question or transcript excerpt that triggered an answer. SideThread does not store raw audio files or OpenAI Realtime event streams in its app database.

Account And Data Deletion

You can delete your SideThread account in the app. Account deletion deletes your account, sessions, and saved conversation history from the app database. It does not cancel an Apple subscription; Apple subscriptions must be managed or cancelled through Apple. Diagnostic logs, telemetry, and server traces are handled by separate retention policies and may not be removed by the in-app account deletion action.

Website

This website has no forms and no SideThread account state. It may load Google Analytics only when the site is configured with a Google Analytics measurement ID. When that setting is not configured, the website does not load the Google Analytics script.
